General Information
At Hottentots-Holland High School we offer a wide variety of subjects for learners to choose from. Our teachers are specialists in the subjects they offer, ensuring that each child receives the best possible education.

Subjects Offered
Senior phase (Gr. 8 and 9)
In grade 8 and 9 learners cannot choose their subjects and have to take the following:

  • Afrikaans Huistaal OR English Home Language
  • Afrikaans Eerste Addisonele Taal OR English First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Natural Science
  • Social Science
  • Economic Management Science
  • Technology
  • Creative Arts
  • Life Orientation

FET phase (Gr. 10 – 12)
At the end of grade 9 learners will have the option to choose their subjects.
Compulsory subjects:

  • Afrikaans Huistaal OR English Home Language
  • Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal OR English First Additional Language
  • Mathematics* OR Mathematical Literacy
  • Life Orientation

*Learners who wish to take Mathematics need to get at a final mark of at least 60% for Mathematics in grade 9.
